The Side Effects of Plastic Surgery
Like all surgeries, there are risks of side effects when you have plastic surgery too. There are no surgeries that can be guaranteed 100% and for that you are made to sign a release every time you go in for any type of surgery.
The main side effects will depend on each surgery and what is involved. There are side effects that can arise in a facelift such as the numbness around the area worked on due to nerves that have been damaged and so forth.
Other side effects can include bleeding, swelling of the immediate area, numbness and tingling, and in breast implants there is a risk of rupture or hardening of the implant due to scar tissue.
You will want to make sure that you are in close contact with your surgeon and that you receive all of the possible side effects before having your cosmetic surgery. Although most of the side effects are just temporary there are things that you should look for and report to your doctor and we will go over these more serious effects.
· Fever- If you begin to notice a fever it is best to contact your surgeon this could be a sign of infection and can turn serous if not treated properly.
· Redness and swelling- If you experience redness or swelling of the affected area after 3 or more days this can also be a sign of infection and you should contact your surgeon.
· Extreme pain- if you develop extreme pain you should contact your surgeon immediately.
As you can see there are many possible side effects and it is best to become informed before your surgery so you will know exactly what to look for and all of the warning signs after surgery. It is better to be safe than sorry.
